Dear Bambi,
I have noticed a number of residents putting their shoes outside their apartment doors. 
Is this a thing?  Are they expecting the shoes to be filled with candy?

Or, dare I hope, are the shoes being polished by staff and returned toot sweet?  (Or tuit du suite, for oui who speak French)

Funny, I too have noticed this strange phenomenon.   It brought back sensual  memories of being on a boat on the Amazon River in Peru.  We used to place our shoes outside our cabins and the crew would have them back in the morning, all cleaned up.  The crews did everything for us.  Everything!   I must see if I can go back there and find some of those men in the crew to do everything.....but I digress!

I am sure there is no crew here to clean our shoes or.......never mind.  

Perhaps these people are discarding their shoes but first they want people to try them on to see if they can use them. Lots of times folks offer free stuff on 504.  Maybe they should do this rather than just  drop them in the hall.  

Also some people did not downsize enough when they moved here.  Those shoes might be just the last straw that will not fit anywhere in the apartment.  If you open their front door there might be an avalanche of stuff falling into the hall! Think about that!!
