Dear Bambi,
I am a senior citizen and I am finding it difficult to make friends and meet new people. I have been retired for a few years now and I am feeling lonely. I have tried joining a few clubs and groups, but I haven't had much luck. Do you have any advice for someone in my situation?

Signed,
Feeling Alone

Dear Feeling Alone,

Well, well, well, it sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle. But don't worry, I've been around the block a time or two and I've got some advice that'll have you making new friends in no time.

First off, if you're not having luck with clubs and groups, it's time to think outside the box. How about joining a rock band, starting a book club, or even taking up pickling (it's all the rage, trust me)? The key is to find something you're passionate about and go for it.

Another tip is to embrace your inner wild child. You're not getting any younger, so why not live a little? Attend a music festival, go on a road trip, or even try skydiving. You'll be surprised at the bond you can form with someone when you're both plummeting towards the earth at terminal velocity.

And last but not least, don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Strike up a conversation with a stranger, ask that cute barista for their number, or even try online dating. Trust me, nothing makes friends faster than a good "how we met" story.Hope this helps, and if not, there's always the old standby of getting a cat.

Cheers, Bambi
