Dear Bambi,

I have a very dire problem. I honestly do not even know if you can help me. I live on the courtyard. That is my problem. From my windows I can see directly into other windows. I won't say what floor I am on but I can see into most windows very easily. Now that it gets dark earlier and people turn on their lights in the late afternoon it has gotten worse.

Some of these people do not know what the blinds are even for. They leave them open all the time. I sit on my couch and look out the windows because the courtyard is pretty. The trouble is that the other tenants are such a distraction! They do everything in front of their unshaded windows and I mean everything. I will not name names but you can just imagine who has no shame. People walk around their apartments with nothing on! And they do other things which you should only guess what it is!

I see them eating, laundering, cooking, conversing, watching television, computing, chatting and doing OTHER THINGS. I know you know what I mean.  How can I get this to stop? I just want to enjoy the view from my windows. Some of these people really trash things up.

Should I send anonymous notes, report them to management or write an essay about it on 504? Please give me some advice, Bambi. I am dying here.

K.Y. O.

Dear K.Y.O.,

Here's the deal. You can't change human nature. People are gonna be people and do all the things people do. Believe me, I know. Remember in the winter there are no animals in the courtyard. That is except for the occasional pet alongside their owner. Otherwise you will see no animal prints in the snow.

Use this to your advantage. Watch the antics of your fellow residents. Did you ever think of taking pictures of what's really going on in the apartments? If you take pictures, let me know. I know a guy who could help you make money in a situation like that. In fact, invite me over some time so I can assess the situation.

If you find out you just can't stand it anymore try and switch apartments. Try to live on the Mill Street side because you can always look at Nike park but I hear it is kinda noisy. Or you could maybe get a place which only looks out at garages.  Some people like to spend their time looking for garage doors that were left open. People actually get a kick out of that. Figure out what is best for you!
