Bob

We knew Bob wasn't well but we had hope.  Bob had even more hope as he had secured an appointment at the Mayo Clinic.  We all make plans, don't we?

Maybe we can learn from another sad experience.  We plan ahead and I guess we keep our fingers crossed. We are only guaranteed the present.  (I cheat and give myself tomorrow also.  I believe in being optimistic!)

So, here we are together.  There will always be that empty space at the table.  When Bob appeared he upped the game.   The conversation became brisk and he made everyone laugh,  We would laugh at ourselves most of all and he led the way.  He amazed us with his performance as Bobby in the Family Feud.  I guess Bobby was Bambi's guy.  Believe me, she is devastated! He always replied to her writing and usually was the only one.  That was the kind of guy he was.  Thoughtful and kind.

We will continue our lives and regain our balance after these two difficult losses at  Everleigh these last two months.   We will remember though.    No one will ever replace Karen's grace and sweet personality  and Bob's humor and kindness.  We will just do the best we can.  Keep trying!

Bob at his sartorial finest...

  2. Karen's son told me that his mom got an extra 5 GOOD years of life by moving here.
I will always remember the jello Bob made at the last potluck. When he brought it down it was still very jiggly . We put it in the freezer and when we took it out for the buffet it was STILL jiggly. We (Marie & I) decided to just put a lot of whip cream on top. We gave Bob back a very clean bowl. He was happy.
